I can help you get control over food. Here are a couple of key tips!
I love sushi. However, for years I couldn’t manage to correctly use chopsticks and had to always ask for a fork at our favorite sushi restaurant, Inakaya.
One day I finally got tired of being the only one at the sushi bar with a fork. I decided right then and there that i was going to start eating every single one of my meals -and i mean every single meal, every single day – with chopsticks until I learned how to use them effectively. It worked!
In the process I learned that using chopsticks helped me to eat slower which helped me enjoy my food longer and helped me to not be as likely to overeat. Prior to this I used to inhale my food so quickly that I didn’t even get to enjoy the flavor of it. I ended up eating much more than I needed or intended to, which left me feeling bloated and miserable.
I’ve gotten pretty good at using chopsticks now. Instead of being frustrated with them I actually think they are fun to use. I continue to use them for many meals because of these extra benefits and because I’m just good at it now!
So give this a try and let me know if this tip helps lead to a more mindful, enjoyable, and satisfying meal experience for you.
